4: How long does it take to order a dress?
Most dresses take 16 weeks for delivery.You also need to allow time for fitting which is ideally 1 to 2 months before your wedding.
5: What if I have not allowed enough time to order a dress?
We carry a large stock of dresses. The dress sizes range from size 8 - 22
6: Is it true that I will wear one size bigger in my wedding dress?
Unfortunately, this is the case. Most wedding dress collections are sized smaller, usually because they are cut to a couture size chart.
7: How do I determine my dress size?
Once you have selected your gown we will need your measurements so we can help you determine the best size. These measurements are typically your bust, waist, and hip. We will then compare your measurements to the designers size chart to determine the best size for you.
8: Should I bring my friends and family to help me chose the dress?
Avoid that trap. Too many differing opinions can cause confusion.
9: Are alterations always necessary?
Most girls do need some kind of alteration even if it is only with the length. Manufactured dresses are not made to measure.
10: Are alterations included in the price?
No, alterations are not included in the cost of the gown and the cost of the alteration depends on the extent of the work involved.
11: Are the alterations carried out on the premises?
No, but we can suggest 2 streamstresses.
12: What items will I need for my dress fittings?
You will need to bring everything that you will be wearing with your dress, your lingerie, petticoat and shoes. Changing these items after your first fitting can dramatically affect the way your dress fits and cause twice as many alterations.
13: How do I pay for my dress?
You pay half the price of your gown with your order and the other half once the dress arrives in the shop. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash or cheques .
14: Do you accept returns on bridalwear?
No. All sales are final. This policy is consistent with the industry standard for bridal.
15: What do I do with the train on my dress in the evening?
Most dresses can be hooked up for the evening, so that you can dance the night away
16: Should the bridesmaids dresses match the wedding gown?
It is better to buy the bridesmaids dresses after the gown because it is better to carry a theme through however small, to link the dresses together.
17: How long do bridesmaids dresses take to order?
Allow between 12 and 16 weeks for delivery.
18: Is that the same for the Dessy collection?
No, it takes approximately 6 - 8 weeks from order confirmation.However, for a small fee of £40.00 we can request a rush delivery this takes between 5 to 6 weeks.
19: What if bridesmaids are all different sizes?
You need your bridesmaids to feel confident in what they are wearing and look good in the photographs. Sometimes brides chose similar dresses but with subtle changes to ensure each girl looks her best.
Many of the bodices come with either a straight or A line skirt. Larger arms can be hidden with a matching stole. Most bodices can be strapless or have straps attached. Lace up backs can have a placket which hides the bra strap if a girl feels underwear is essential.
20: Do you sell shoes?
Yes, we sell two styles from the Cymbeline range. Orders can only be placed once the full payment has been taken. Delivery is 16 wks for orders placed with a dress and 12 wks for individual orders.
21: Do you sell Veils?
Yes. If you do not see the style or colour you wish to order then please ask. Please note, any special orders placed, must be paid for in full and will incur a £5.00 delivery charge.
